Everything is Computer
Last month, we announced Perplexity Computer to the world. It’s based on a simple idea: when you have highly accurate AI search, an orchestration harness of 20 frontier models, and agentic internet access, AI is the computer.
Perplexity Computer can understand a goal, move across tools, and keep work going after you step away.
And now we’re expanding that functionality across Perplexity: a Personal Computer that can merge your local files with Perplexity Computer and work 24/7, Perplexity Computer for Enterprise, new APIs for developers, and deeper capabilities for financial research.
Personal Computer
Today we are announcing Personal Computer.
Personal Computer runs on a dedicated Mac mini that can run 24/7, connected to your local apps and Perplexity’s secure servers. Personal Computer is a digital proxy for you, working constantly on your behalf and allowing you to orchestrate all of your tools, tasks, and files from any device, anywhere.
Personal Computer works in a secure environment with clear safeguards. Sensitive actions require approval, and every session includes a full audit trail. A kill switch gives users immediate control.
We are providing support for the initial cohort, and the waitlist is now open.
Computer for Enterprise
What works for one person also applies to a company: the ability to reason across tools, act in context, and keep work moving.
In a study of over 16,000 queries, measured against institutional benchmarks from McKinsey, Harvard, MIT, BCG, and others, we determined Perplexity Computer saved our internal teams $1.6M in labor costs and performed 3.25 years of work in only four weeks. And now we’re extending those same capabilities to other teams.
Computer for Enterprise connects to the tools a company already runs on. Through app connectors, it can query Snowflake, Salesforce, HubSpot, and hundreds of other platforms directly.
That means a financial analyst can ask for revenue by vertical from Snowflake, while a sales team can pull CRM data and competitive context at the same time. Computer writes the queries, runs them, and returns structured results.
Teams can also teach Computer their preferred workflows with customized skills. And it also fits naturally inside workflows teams already use.
In Slack, through a DM or a shared channel, teams can collaborate with Computer: to handle coding with Codex and Claude, create dashboards, financial models, and decks without waiting on a data scientist or analytics team, and run scheduled workflows asynchronously.
Computer was built on our existing secure foundation: SOC 2 Type II, SAML SSO, audit logs, with every query in its own secure sandbox.
Comet Enterprise
Most of the workday already happens in the browser. Comet understands the context across your tabs and automates much of the repetitive work. Comet Enterprise brings that same experience into a managed environment.
Comet Enterprise gives organizations an AI-native browser with the controls needed to use it responsibly. Admins can decide where and how the assistant operates, with permissions that apply across the browser or only on specific domains.
They can allow Comet to answer questions without taking actions, let it work more actively in lower-risk environments, and review action logs for every session. Comet Enterprise also supports centralized deployment through existing MDM infrastructure, making it possible to install Comet across employee devices, apply browser policies, block domains and extensions, and monitor activity through exportable telemetry.
Through our partnership with CrowdStrike, Comet Enterprise customers gain additional browser-level protections, including visibility into installed extensions, risk scores, and protections that help prevent sensitive information from being entered into Comet.
API Platform
The same shift is happening not just in user experiences, but in the underlying platform developers build on. Perplexity’s platform is expanding with four APIs: Search, Agent, Embeddings, and Sandbox.
These are the same building blocks that power Computer, now available as APIs: cited outputs, multi-model routing, and the ability to move from retrieval to action in a secure environment. For developers building products where accuracy matters, those are core building blocks.
Search gives developers a grounded way to retrieve information. Agent makes it possible to delegate multi-step tasks. Sandbox provides a controlled environment for execution. Embeddings support retrieval and ranking systems that depend on stronger relevance. Together, they create a broader platform for products that need trustworthy answers and useful actions in the same system.
Premium Sources
Premium Sources bring professional data providers directly into Perplexity. Starting today, Computer can access select Statista, CB Insights, and PitchBook data as part of the research workflow.
These are paywalled sources widely used for market research, company analysis, and investment decisions. By bringing these sources into Perplexity, we reduce the cost and complexity of accessing them. Premium Sources are cited in research queries and can link to the right source, automatically.
Perplexity Finance, Upgraded
75% of Perplexity users already ask finance questions every month. Perplexity Finance is the data and analysis layer underneath Computer, Deep Research, and Search, plus a dedicated dashboard for following real-time markets and news.
In finance, the data has to be correct, current, and auditable. That’s why we’re expanding Perplexity Finance with broader capabilities and tools.
Computer now has access to over 40 live finance tools pulling directly from SEC filings, FactSet, Coinbase, Quartr, and other authoritative sources. No setup, no license, no API key. Every figure is fully traceable back to its original source.
Computer can build interactive dashboards, Excel models, and full financial applications using these tools. The same tools are available whether you're managing a personal portfolio or running institutional analysis.
Connect your brokerage accounts through Plaid for portfolio analytics and risk insights on your actual holdings. Computer can also pull prediction market data directly from Polymarket.
Everything is Computer
This launch expands the power of Computer across personal workflows, enterprise software, developer platforms, and finance. The throughline is the same in each case: a system that can understand the goal, gather the right context, use the right tools, and carry the work forward. Everything is Computer.
