Introducing the Perplexity Health Advisory Board
When it comes to health, accuracy matters more than almost anywhere else, and the knowledge people find online should support and inform the conversations they have with their doctors.
Unfortunately, most health information online wasn't built with clinical rigor in mind, which causes traditional search and social media to confuse and hinder productive conversations between patients and their healthcare providers.
Today we are announcing the Perplexity Health Advisory Board.
The Perplexity Health Advisory Board is a small group of practicing physicians, researchers, and health technology leaders who will help ensure that our future product decisions, content quality, patient safety, and clinical workflows reflect evidence-based medicine.
Why we’re building with clinicians
Physicians are the experts in patient care, and treatment decisions remain between patients and their clinicians. AI should support that relationship. This board puts that into practice: advising the safeguards and product experiences that define responsible health information from AI.
Physicians define how medical evidence is evaluated, and we believe that bar should extend to AI.
Board members
Today we are announcing the board's first four members, with more to come:
Dr. Eric Topol is a cardiologist, scientist, professor and EVP at Scripps Research. The author of Deep Medicine and one of the most cited researchers in the world, his work spans genomics, digital medicine, and the responsible application of AI in clinical care.
Dr. Devin Mann is a professor of population health and medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and the strategic director of digital health innovation at NYU Langone Health. His work focuses on chronic conditions, remote patient monitoring, and AI-assisted clinical workflows.
Dr. Wendy Chung is the Mary Ellen Avery Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and the Chief of the Department of Pediatrics at Boston Children’s Hospital. She is a leader in pediatrics and genomics, directing NIH-funded research programs in human genetics and rare diseases.
Tim Dybvig is a health technology founder and operator who brings deep experience building patient-facing tools and health infrastructure at scale.
Today Perplexity also announced connectors for users to input their own health data and build personalized dashboards and applications in Perplexity Health on Perplexity Computer. This will serve as a critical starting foundation for Perplexity’s future health innovations guided by the Health Advisory Board.
