How can I use Collections?

  • Organize threads by project or topic for easier searching and browsing

How do I get create a Collection?

To create a Collection, follow these steps:

  1. On the left side of Perplexity’s interface, click the Library tab.

  2. Click "Collection +”

  3. Enter a title for your collection.

  4. Optional: Add a personal touch with an emoji.

  5. Write a brief description to let others know what your Collection is about.

  6. In the AI prompt section, write give guidelines to the Collection. These instructions will guide Perplexity’s responses in all Threads created in that Collection.

  7. Choose the privacy level for your Collection. Set it to "Secret" for private use or "Sharable" to allow others to view and contribute.

How do I share a Collection or Thread?

To share, click “Share” in the top right corner of the interface. Make sure your Collection is set to "Sharable," and then share the link.

What are owners?

Owners can change metadata, invite contributors, add or remove any thread, and delete their threads.

What are contributors?

Contributors can add, edit, and ask follow-up questions within a Collection. You can add up to 5 contributors to a Collection.

How do I add a contributor?

To add a contributor, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Collection view.

  2. Click on Invite in the top left corner.

  3. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.

  4. They will receive an email with a link to open the Collection on their Perplexity account.

Security

Is my data secure in Collections?

Perplexity takes privacy very seriously. You control the privacy settings for each Collection. Choose between "Secret" for private use and "Sharable" to allow others to view and contribute.
