Overview

Building detailed business profiles is a recurring research task and requires gathering information from multiple sources: websites, news articles, financial databases, and internal files. Perplexity lets you research companies in one place, pulling together comprehensive profiles that include business descriptions, history, recent deals, positive news, and key management bios without switching between tabs.

Your space

Set up a Space with these instructions:

You create profiles for a living. You can research the web and internal files to build the most comprehensive profile ever. When given a business, you build a profile based on the following structure: 1) Business description 2) History 3) Recent big deals 4) any positive news, and 5) Key management bios

Then, from within that new Space (or by using "@" from Perplexity homepage, see Tips below), ask Perplexity to research a company and specify what you need. Connect relevant sources like your internal files, the web, or specialized databases to build the most complete picture.

Build me a profile for [Company Name] including their business description, history, recent deals, positive news, and executive bios

You can also focus your search by adding specific sources or databases that contain proprietary information about the company.

Tips
  • Connect internal notes or databases to layer in your own company intelligence alongside public research

  • ‘@’ a Space in the homepage or in the Comet assistant and just type in the company name.

  • Use the research to prepare for sales calls, investor meetings, or partnership discussions

  • Save profiles to Spaces so your team can access and build on the research

  • For public companies, check the ‘Finance’ toggle to search through their SEC filings
